This innovative park is designed for both blind and sighted visitors. The trail is landscaped with trees and shrubs that provide a wide range of textures and fragrances.

Visitors are encouraged to feel the difference in leaves, needles, and bark, and enjoy the scents of herbs and aromatic shrubs and trees. An alpine garden is fashioned from a rock outcrop. Picnic tables and wooden benches are located along the pathways so trail users can linger.

The City of Edmonds and the Edmonds Lions Club partnered in the park's creation, working with a blind architect, Bob Brown, for its design.
