Top 5 Family Spots

1. Farmers Market/Cafe

On a perfect Edmonds-Kind-Of-Day, we'd begin with a stroll through the Edmonds Farmers' Market and a downtown café to grab honey sticks and pastries for the kids and coffees for Mom and Dad. And depending on how long we plan to be out, I'd make sure to grab a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our back patio table.

2. Ferry ride

We'd then head straight down Main Street to the ferry dock and walk on to the Edmonds-Kingston ferry for a quick trip across Puget Sound, admiring the stunning view and taking plenty of photos of passing boats, birds, seals - and occasionally - a whale!

3. Marina Beach

Upon our return to the Edmonds dock, we'd head south along the waterfront to Edmonds Marina beach to hang out and watch the kite surfers, build sand forts, and then walk out on the fishing pier to see what folks are catching. Gotta swing by Bud's Bait Shop to pick up some fresh crab for dinner, too.

4.Edmonds Restaurant Lunch

Ready for lunch, we'd then walk to either Anthony's Home Port for clams and fish and chips at the outside Beach Café, or walk back into town for a 'breakfast lunch' at a window booth in Claire's Pantry. If it's a rainy day, burgers and fries around the fireplace at Rory's pub are always a hit, too.

5. Edmonds Theater/Yost Park

Then it's time to walk up the block and see what's playing at the Edmonds Theater, where's there's usually a good family matinee playing (and free popcorn for the kids!). Or, if the boys are too rambunctious to sit through a movie, we'd head to Yost Park for a quick hike through the woods or a swim in the pool.
